Probably dating from the early 1900's this hand painted panel saved from an old screen. Done on a light cotton muslin. The fabric has been hand painted with a Chinese red background. Hand painted motifs depict a bird, florals and leaves. After having been painted the panel feels and behaves more like wallpaper than fabric.

One  small hole area in the wing of the bird where the fabric has been broken but still available. So possible to starighten out and stabilize this spot. Splits at left hand side edge. Split at left hand side but very small. Small small age spots at the bottom but doesn't really distract.
