A 19th century French cotton roll/block print fabric. Repeating solid bands that alternate with bands of a broken branch design. A popular motif during this period. Colors are a natural reddish brown with creme and white.

*Actually two pieces hand seamed together. One of the pieces is selvage to selvage and 87 cm wide.


Condition

 

Quilted at one time so shows signs of quilt lines.

 

Some large and small holes as well as thin areas. Some good sections without damage. Colors have a fairly even appearance but have faded with time and there still shows signs of soiling and some small stains.

 

Best suited for small projects or documentation.

 

The fabric has been giving a light soak to remove dust and dirt using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. Leaving a deeper clean up to the discretion of the customer. We like to delivery a clean and pressed product when possbile but take care to preserve the integretity and color of the fabric.
