I love the way this late 19th century French cotton roll print has aged. Repeating bands with smaller bands of scrolled leaves and berries. Larger bands of grape on the vine and what looks like pommegranite. Colors are rosy red, shads of tan, light blue and beige against a red background.

Ful repeat,

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

From top to bottom

1 meter 10 cm

The width is

85 cm (still has the selvage at one side)

Condition

Distressed with many small holes throughout and thin areas. Left hand side of the fabric is in better condition with only a few small holes.  Quilted at one time so you will see clear diamond shaped quilt lines. Colors have undoubtedly lightend with age but still strong and have an even appearance. No stains

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
