We've carefully hand stitched this 19th century French cotton fabric sample to a hand written 19th century French letter. 
 
The fabric is repeating block design of small blossoms against a moire styled background. Colors are a natrual red and whtie against shades of lavender background. 
 
Repeat blossom design is a full repeat but I'm not sure the moire background would be considered a full repeat. 
 
Part of a unique collection of samples that we have been saving for documentation and reproduction work. 
 
Photos are a good indication of actual color and condition.

Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition. 
 
Fabric is in good condition with consistant colors but does have a few small holes. 
 
Letter shows signs of wear and age.
