A 19th century ecclesiastical applique depicting  Maria. French in origin. Her robe is predomantly a gold lame fabric  with what would have been a blue velvet cape but has now faded to a light grey/gold. Gold metal spangles thoughout. She stands on bed of clouds. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

57.5 cm from top to bottom x 37 cm across at the widest points. 
 
Condition
 
Overall in good condition with a good appearance. Colors of the velvet have faded and lost the pile through time. The clouds were probably gold lame at one time and the top finish has dissapeared leaved the linen threads exposed.
