A 19th century French ecclesiastical applique saved from an religious banner. Depicts Maria, Joseph and Jesus. Stump work. The robes of Maria and Jesus done in silk fabric and garnished with metal spangle and metalli trims. The robe of Joseph done in what appears to be a red silk and gold lame fabric and garnished with metal spangles and metallic trims. At the bottom a brown velvet ground with embroiderey florals and leaves.

Condition
 
Overall condition especially for the age. You can see in the robes of Maria and Jesus that the silks have begun to fray but still stable and intact. One of the hands of Joseph shows some wear and it a bit damaged. Other slight signs of age related wear but nothing major.
