A French cotton chintz fabric. Probably late 1800's or early 1900's. Repeating patttern of birds facing each other surrounded by leafy vines, leafy branches and stylized blossoms. Colors are terracotta with a creame colored back. Still has a lot of it's glazing intact.

Photos are a good indication of actual color and condition.

Measurements

From top to bottom

18 cm

The width is

82.5 cm wide (still has the selvage at both sides)

Condition

Left in "as found" condition and not laundered. We rarely clean chintz fabrics in order to preserve the glazing.

At the right side of the fabric the colors are darker in color and probably more true to the orginal color. The left side of the fabric has taken on a lighter shade of color from age. In addiion, you will see a bit of a sewing line crossing the top edge.
