A 19th century French cotton block/roll print fabric. Repeatings bands of groups of florals and leaves that alternate with a paisley. Colors are rosy red, shades of pink, shades of lavender, a bit of light blue and golden oliver for the leaves,. Picotage work around each motif. All against a tiny squiggly pinstripe background.
Full repeat.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
90 cm from top to bottom
The width is
85 cm wide (still has the selvage at one side)
Condition
Several smaller holes along one side and a couple towards the center. The other side of the fabric is still in good condition without damage but you will see small holes along the edges Still shows some slight aging due to use and quilting but nothing obvious and would probably lift with a deeper cleaning if desired. Colors are good, strong and even.
The fabric has been given a long cold water soak in order to remove dust and dirt and then a long cold water wash. It is our aim to preserve the color and the integretity of the fabric since many of our fabrics are reproduced. A deeper cleaning of the fabric would undoubtedly lift lighter aged areas if desired.
