Stunning colors and design in this 19th century French fabric. I believe this is a cotton/linen mix. Depicting birds, florals and leave in rich vivid colors against an off white background. Has a bit of a mezarro look to it.

Full repeat.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

From top to bottom

1 meter 97 cm

The width across is

86.5 cm (still has the selvage at both sides)

Condition

Used with some condition issues. Some small holes here and there mostly in the brown areas which I've tried to show in the photos. There are good size areas in the fabric without damage.  Frequently the dyes used to make the brown color have iron in them and these tend to break down over time. You will see some light tiny age spots throughout which would probably lift with a deeper cleaning if desired and background color shows aging (slightly brownish) which again would probalby lift with a deeper cleaning.

Colors are strong and even.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
