A 19th century French cotton coverlet. I believe this may have been part of a provencal skirt at one time, Allhand stitched with even rows of stitching,
Front fabric consist of two equal sized panels with repeating block design of small florals in various colors are withe a reddish brown background.
Back fabric is predominant one large piece of cotton with geometric motifs and at two corners another fabric with geometric motifs.
The edging along all sides is a cottonade.

1 meter 97 c, x 1 meter 44 cm
Condition
Left in "as found" condition.
Clean appearance with no stains: Colors are strong and even on the front fabric.
Front fabric has two small breakes in the cotton each one close to the center. There is an area at one side approx; 31 x 9 cm that has some breaks in the fabric.
Back fabrics in good condition with even colors except for a largish spot that is faded.
