Probably dating from the mid 1900's this velvet French theatre costume. Military look. Vest top and matching knee high pants. Both pieces made from a heavy blue cotton.
 
Vest trimmed out with gold metallic trims that have a red stripe. Brass buttons down the front and at the pocket. Makers label on the inside of the neck. 
 
Pants: garnished with the same gold metallic trims and buttons  as the vest and placed at the side of each leg. Elastic  suspenders attached on the inside waist Click button and hook and eye closure at one side. Same makers label on the inside of the waist. 
 
Both pieces are lined. Both pieces show hand and machine stitching.

Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition.
 
Vest: good condition with no holes or damage. At the back creme colored fabric you will see some soiling and some rust spots on the belt. 
 
Pants: good condition with no obvious damage except for one tiny worn spot just down from the waist. You will see a couple of small dark marks front and back of the pants but blend well with the dark blue color. A piece of velcro is missing at the bottom of one of the legs.
