A 19th century French cotton fabric. Charcoal grey color with an off white pinstripe. Reminds me very much of the old work wear fabrics.

Photos are a good indication of actual color and condition.

Measurements

67 x 64 cm

*actually 3 pieces different fabrics all hand seamed together with a linen thread. All though all fabrics match very close in color you can see that they are different when looked at closely.

Condition

Distressed colors with variations but a rather cool overall look. Some small holes here and there but also some good areas without damage. The fabric was quilted at one time so you will see light traces of quilt lines.

I find the back with the hand stitching and seams as interesting and beautiful as the front.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
