A 19th century French cotton block print fabric. Rich design of geometric shapes with provencal patterns of florals and leaves. Colors are natural red and sky blue with accent colors in white against a red and red background.

*actually 5 pieces of the same fabric that have all been hand seamed together. One large piece with four smaller pieces sewn onto one end. 

Condition
 
Distressed with several small holes here and there and some thin areas. Colors are good and strong. Fabric was quilted at one time so you will see traces of quilt lines. Background white color still shows some aging from use but could probably be removed with a deeper cleaning if desired. 
 
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
