We've carefully hand stitched this 19th century French cotton fabric sample to a hand written 18th century French letter dated 1756 or 1796 last digit difficult to decipher. 
 
The fabric is a repeating block design of leaves with an abstract motis in the background. Colors reddish brown and white ith a bit of brown.
