A 19th century French toile du jouy. Depicting artichoke like motifs and leaves with a small farm house and two birds. 
 
Colors are shades of red and pink with an off white background.

* acutally four pieces of the same fabric hand seamed together. Selvage can be seen at the seams. 
 
Condition
 
A bit distressed with a few small holes and sewing lines at both length sides. 
 
Colors good and strong.
 
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
