A large panel of 19th century French cotton plaid. Shades of ombre red with alternating bands of a greenish grey and creme.

Condition
 
Distressed with many large holes and small holes (especially at one end) and many small holes and tiny thin areas. Some good size areas in good condition without damage. Quilited at one time so shows quilt lines. Still some aging in color with an even appearance in the background color which would probably lift with a deeper cleaning if desired. 
 
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
