A 19th century French cotton plaid. Shades of ombre red with alternating bands of a greenish grey and creme.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

1 meter 8 cm  from top to bottom

The width is

81 cm wide (still has the selvage at one side)

Condition

Distressed with a line of small and large holes along the bottom edge. Throughout the rest of the fabric you will see tiny holes and thin areas the result of quilting and use.  Quilited at one time so shows quilt lines. Still some aging in color with an even appearance in the background color which would probably lift with a deeper cleaning if desired.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
