Very pretty design in this 19th century French cotton roll print fabric. Repeating large groups of florals and leaves that alternate with hanging florals that look a bit like wisteria. Smaller groups of florals and leaves in between. Thoughout the background decorative picotage work.

Colors include rosy red, pink, white, dark to light shades of lavender and golden olive. Background color is white.

Full repeat.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

From top to bottom

1 meter 31 cm

The width is

84.5 cm (still has the selvage at both sides). .

Condition

For the most part in good condition but there are some condition issues. Several tiny holes in the motifs running down the center mostly the result of quiliting with a small break at center and another small hole towards the top. The same tiny holes running down the sides from quilting which can be seen when the fabric is held up to the light. Light traces of quilt lines. Some very light age spots here and there which may lift with a deeper cleaning if desired.

Colors are strong and even.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
