Probably dating from the late 1800's this French cotton toile du jouy. Repeating motifs of a trellis, well, basket with florals and birds and architectual motifs surrounded by florals and leaves.

Colors are rosy red, shades of pink, lavender, light blueish mint and shades of brown with a creme colored background.

Full repeat,

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

From top to bottom

1 meter 71 cm

The width is

83 cm (still has the selvage at both sides).

Condition

The majority of the fabric is in good useable condition.  You may loose approx. 20 cm off the top edge due to small holes and thin areas. Quilted at one time so you will see traces of light quilt lines. Colors strong and consitant for the most part.  No stains

The fabric has been given a long cold water soak to remove dust and dirt and a long cold water water using those famouse Marseille soaps without bleaching agents to freshen.

Since many of our fabrics are bering reproduced we aim to preserve the color and integretity of the fabric.
