A 19th century French toile du jouy. Cotton. Depicting birds; scroll work and garlands of small florals and leaves. 
 
Colors are shades of grey to off white with a blue background.

Condition
 
Overall good condition except for a small tear top edge right hand side and a larger tear just to the side of the right hand side upper right hand side. Lightly quilted at one time.  Lightly quilted at one time. Colors strong and even. No stains. 
 
The fabric has been given a long cold water soak to removed dust and dirt using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve the color and the integrety of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being reproduced.
