Very early 1800's French toile du jouy. Finely woven cotton. Romantic looks of birds on branches, butterflies and groups of fruite which include a pineapple and pomegranite. Deep shades of aubergine color with shades of brwon and creme.

Please note actually two pieces of the same fabric hand seamed together with a narrow strip along the top. Seam runs across the width. 
 
Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition. Good clean appearance. 
 
Overall good condition with the larger motifs intact without damage. There are some small holes next to the seam at the top and a small hole in the bird at the bottom right hand corner. 
 
No stains. Colors are strong, even and consistant.
