Two pieces of this 19th century French cotton print fabric. Stylized ikat design with a striped background. 
 
Color in the motifs is aubergine with background stripes in two shades of lavender. 
 
Full repeat.

Condition
 
Smaller piece has a small age spot. Larger piece shows some splits and thin areas. Both pieces show lines from prviously being quilted. 
 
Colors good and strong.
 
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
