A 19th century French cotton block print. Abstract design of what looks like two triangle shaped florals with tiny stems and leaves at the base. Colors are red with outlines in aubergine against an off white background.

Full repeat.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

93 cm x 82 cm

*actually 3 pieces of the same fabric hand seamed together. Two larger pieces and a narrow strip along one side. Original selvage can be seen at the seams.

Condition

Very distressed with some large holes and many, many small holes and thin areas throughout. Heavily quilted at one time so you will see quilt lines. Still shows even soiling of the background color throughout which may lift with a deeper cleaning. Leaving that up to the discretion of the customer.

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirt and then a light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
