A 19th century French cotton block print fabric. Repeating florals, leaves and bud motifs in natural red, white and black against an ombre yellow striped background

*actually two larger pieces of the same fabric and a smaller strip at one side all hand seamed together. 
 
Condition
 
Distressed with a couple of large holes and many small holes and thin areas throughout. Quilted atone time so you will see traces of quilt lines. A large stain at one side and some light soiling from age and use which may come up with a deeper cleaning if desired. 
 
The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirt and then a light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 
 
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
