Playful design in this 19th century French cotton block/roll print fabric. Bands of small pebbles that alternate with bands of squiggly lines with a stylized leaf block print Colors are red, light blue, lavender, light green and aubergine against a beige background.

*actually two pieces of the same fabric hand stitched together. The larger piece is selvage to selvage so the original width of this fabric is 87 cm wide 

 

Condition

 

Several large holes along the top edge. Several small holes and some thin areas here and there throughout. Some small sections in good condition without damage.  Quilted at one time so you will see traces of quilt lines. Colors are strong and consistant. No stains. 

 

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 

 

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
