An 18th century French indigo blue & white resist dye cotton fabric. Organic looking motifs of stylized blossoms and leaves. Photos are a good representation of actual color.

Design and manufacturing credited to Adam Vidal (early 1700's). The city of Rouen became famous for these fabrics as well as Marseille & Nimes.

Measurements

57 x 30.5 cm

Condition

The fabric was lightly quilted at one time so you will see some quilt lines.

Good overalll condition with a good appearance. There are some small holes mostly along one side. Some slight soiling of the background white area which may brighten up with a further deeper cleaning if desired.

The fabric has been lightly laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents to remove built up dust and dirt. We try to delivery a clean and pressed product when possible but take care to preserve the color and integretity of the fabric
