An 18th century French silk and silver metal thread brocade fabric. Predominate motifs of carnations done in silk and metal thread with a windy branch done in predominatly silver metal thread. Small florals and leaves at the edges. 

 

Colors: shades of red, shades of green, yellow, shades of terracotta

 

Background color is peach and creme. Solid lines are done in silver metal thread. 

 

Usually the brocades made in the 1700's used real gold and silver threads.
