An 18th century French silk and silver metal thread brocade fabric. Depicting swags of florals and leaves with a stylized ribbon and bow. Silver metal threads woven throughout the florals and in the strips.
Colors: burgundy, shades of greey, red, wine, peach and creme.
Background color beige.
Usually the brocades made in the 1700's used real gold and silver threads.

*actually two pieces of the same fabric expertly hand seamed together. Seam crosses the width and is 15 cm up from the bottom edge
Condition
Left in as found condition.
Colors are good and strong and all threads intact.
One split at the top edge. Some silver metal thread loss in the stripes. One tiny thin spot. One tiny hole towards the top. For the rest the silk is strong.
At the back you will see remants of another silk. This piece was quit probably used on a chasuble at one time.
