Great design in this early 1800's French cotton quilt fragment. Indienne influece of various florals and leaves rosy red to pink, lavender and accents at edges in dark lavender. 
 
At the back cotton. 
 
Very thin layer of batting between the fabrics.

Left in "as found" condition. 
 
As you can see there is a large piece missing. Any addition, other holes here and there and probably thin areas as well. Look at the edges of the fragment. You can see that the orginal background color which now is tan in color use to be white at one time and that the leaves which appear tan in color where originally lavender and dark lavender in color. In addition, you can see at one side that this are seams in the fragment where pieces of the same fabric have been joined together.
