An early 1800's French chanvre linen fabric. Camrbrasine. Repeating design of hand embroidered florals on a leafy stem done in a wool thread. 
 
The chanvre is white in color with florals in light mustard and coral.

1 meter 72 cm x 85 cm wide
 
*Actually 5 pieces of the same fabric that have been hand seamed together. Two smaller pieces, two larger pieces and one small piece fitted into one of the corners. Original selvage can be seen at the seams. 
 
Condition
 
Left in as found condition and not laundered. Light surface soiling from age and use. 
 
Most the fabric in good useable condition. Small holes down one side edge. One medium size hole towards one end. A couple of tiny holes here and there and some thin spots. Light age spots throughout which would probably lift with a proper soaking. Coral threads have lightened and faded with age.
