Dating from the early to mid 1800's a French quilted skirt fragment. Heavily quilted with a thin layer of batting. At some point converted into a coverlet.

Stunning colors and design of various florals on leafy branches. Colors include shades of lavender, rosey red to pink, mustard and shades of green with a light beige background.

Back fabric is a repeating floral and leaf pattern with a pinstripe. Colors are light brown and beige.

From what I can see there the fragment is made from two panels of fragment on the front.

Full repeats front and back.

Photos are a good indication of actual color and condition.

Condiion

Left in as found condition.

Front: A stain at one side and some yellowing areas which would probably lift with a professional clean. Several small breaks in the fabric here and there throughout but overall look is good.

Colors are strong and even.

Back fabric: very good condition with only a couple of small marks.
