An antique silk and cotton brocade French bag. Probably dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Fabric has varous florals and leaves on both sides with a notable stylized ribbon motif on one side typical of lampas fabrics. Around the edges heavily embellished with gold metallic satouch and cording. I believe the clasp is silver plate. Inside there are two compartments. One lined with silk and the smaller compartment appears to be pig skin. The bag hangs from a metallic cording with a silver metallic tassel at each side. The entire bag inside and out is all hand done. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Very good. There strapes from which the bag is hung does some even wear and where it has been stitched the bag could be redone to give it a bit of a cleaner look just by using a matching thread as opposed to the antique white that has been used.
