Probably dating from the late 1800's, French cardboard hat box. Oval shape. Covered on the outside with paper. Around the sides of the lid and on the top of the lid a roll print paper with alternating rows of a rosy marble and florals. Sides are covered with a marble like blue paper. Around the bottom edge a the same narrow border of florals that has been used on the top of the box. Black cotton ties for clsure at the sides.

Left in "as found" conditon. 
 
Cardboard is thick and stable. Minor signs of age related wear but overall in good condition. Tiny bits of paper missing at the sides.
