Probably a early 1900's French linen sack. Rope closure at the top. Hand embroidered monogram towards the top in blue. Natural linen color

Left in "as found" condition.
 
Most notably at one side triangle shaped stains. One at the middle and one at the bottom and top corner. At the stains the threads have broken. A few small old darned repairs.  Lighter stains here and there. 
 
Some soiling.  Could use a good soaking.
