A large piece of silk & embroidered fabric. Medium weight and would be suitable for soft furnishings. Asian influence but bought here in France so I suspect it may be French. Possibly intended for making kimono's but it has some weight to it. Large scalloped motifs done in silk and gold metal thread on a black silk background. Quality fabric!

Condition
 
At one time you can see at the bottom that someone has cut out the design. The unused portion of the fabric still in very good condition except for one small hole at top edge and tiny split from top center to bottom center which I believe is the result of the fabric being stored and folded. 
 
Colors and fabric are good and strong with a lot of material to work.
