An 18th century French silk and silver metallic thread brocade fabric. Depicting long wavy strands of florals and leaves done mostly in silk threads with long wavy ribbons and bows done in a predominant silver metal thread with creme colored silk accents. 

 

Colors: burgundy, wine, peach, creme, yellow silver and shades of green. 

 

Background color creme and yellow. 

 

Carboard label at top describes color. 

 

Usually the brocades made in the 1700's used real gold and silver threads. 

 

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

The width across varies from 

 

27 cm wide to 17 cm wide Majority of the brocade leans towards the wider width.

 

*actually three pieces of the same fabric hand seamed together. Seams expertly done and run across the width. 

 

Condition

 

Left in as found condition. 

 

Colors are good and strong. Silk is strong with no splits. 

 

There is silver metal and silk thread loss in the ribbon and bow motifs but has a fairly even appearance.
