A large panel of late 1700's early 1800's French cotton resist dye fabric. Repeating stylized blossom design in white against a blue indigo background. Cotton is very finely woven and resemble muslim which can be see through when held up to the light.
Full repeat.

The width is

*please note actuallly two pieces of the same fabric hand stitched together with the seam running from top to bottom.
The larger panel is selvage to selvage and the width is 71.5.
The small panel
22.5 cm wide and has selvage at one side.
Condition
Lightly quilted at one time so you will see traces of quilt lines. has some larger holes and damage done one side of the smaller panel. A couple of larger holes in the larger panel and you will see some holes along the edges. In the main body of the larger panel you will see a some very small holes and some thin areas but the majority of the fabric has large areas without damage.
No obvious stains. Colors are good and consistant for the most part although you will see slight variations in the indigo blue due to age and use.
The fabric has been given a long cold water soak to remove dust and dirt and then lightly laundered in cold water using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.
It is our aim to deliver a clean and pressed product when possible. We take care to preserve the color and integretity of the fabric since many of our fabrics our used for reproduction.
