A panel of a very pretty early 1800's French chintz. Repeating stemmed rose pattern against a light tan pin striped background. Almost has a hand painted appearance.
Full repeat.
Photos are a good representation of actual colors and condition.
Measurements
From top to bottom
86 cm
The width is
84 cm (still has the selvage at one side)
Condition
Colors are good, strong and even.
Two larger holes along one edge and a couple of tiny holes done one side. Most of the fabric in good useable condition without damage.
You will still see some brownish discoloration in the background due to age which would probably lift with a deeper cleaning but leaving that up to the discretion of the customer.
The fabric has been giving a long cold water soak to remove dust and dirt and then a cold water wash using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.
It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
