Definitely shows it's age these 19th century silk and metal thread brocade chasuble fragments. Antique silk white background with rose, wheat and leaf designs done in a gold metal thread. Attached to a piece of linen at the back. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurments
Two pieces
The larger piece
1 meter 7 cm from top of shoulder to bottom
78 cm wide across the bottom.
Smaller piece
42 cm from top to bottom x 37 cm wide.
Condition
Both pieces lined at the back and stabilized with linen. Most of the silk is split and missing here and there with fray to the threads. You will see some great old darns. Most of the gold embroidery work is in good condition.
The larger piece is actually several pieces of the same fabric pieced together and done rather well. You an see that at one time the fragments use to be adorned with trims that have been removed. Good lot for small projects, framing etc.
