I love the design and look in this fragment of a 19th century French provencal scarf. Cotton. Block print.  Looks like pears and leaves in the main body of the fabric. Stylized leaves and florals along two sides. Early tones in fleshy peach, greens, a bit of blue, mustard, shades of brwon and beige. Along one side the edge has been rolled under and hand stitched.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

88 cm in length x 43 cm

Condition

Several small holes here and there throughout so best suited for documenation or small projects. The fabric is still good and strong. Colors are good and even. No obvious stains.

The fabric has been given a long cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a cold water wash using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents.

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
