A gorgeous length of antique silver metallic lace. French in origin. Probably dates from the 1920's/30's. Repeating four large tear drop shaped motifs with stylized blossoms and leaves. You can see in the blossoms that two different kinds of silver metallic thread has been used for a tone on tone look. The base is all a very finely woven silver metallic mesh. Straight edges along the top and botttom although bottom edge looks scalloped because of the shape of the motifs. The lace has developed a beautiful antique patina (not too dark and not too light) which will look great with old fabrics. Good metal content and weight.
