A 19th century French quilt. All hand stitched.
One side. Cotton. Repeat stylized paisley design with indienne influence. Colors are dar and light terracotta, a bit of mustard and black against a light creme background.
Other side: Cotton. Repeat double leaf design with a tiny branch pattern in the background in shades of light to dark pink against a creme colored background.
Thin layer of batting between the fabrics.
As with most of the quilts from this period the fabrics are several panels that have been hand seamed together and usually the panels are between 80 to 90 cm wide if they are from selvage to selvage.
Photos are a good indication of color and condition.

Left in "as found" condition.
Overalll good condition the only thing to note is:
-on the indiene side a few very tiny and faint age spots. Nothing major.
-on double leaf side some very faint small area where the fabric has yellowed a bit form age but blends well and again nothing maor
Colors are good, consistant and strong on both sides.
