We've carefully hand stitched this 19th century French cotton fabric sample to a hand written 19th century French letter. 
 
The fabric is a repeating block design of small blossoms and leafs in red, a bit of yellow and white against a blue background. 
 
Full repeat. 
 
Part of a unique collection of samples that we have been saving for documentation and reproduction work.

Left in "as found" condition. 
 
Fabric is in good condition with consistant colors and no damage. It was quilted at one time so you will see light traces of quilt lines. 
 
Letter shows signs of wear and age and a missing piece out of two sides.
