Pretty design in this 19th century French cotton roll/block print quilt fragement. Repeating design of florals and leaves in on branches (look a bit like wild roses) in shades of red to pink, dark lavender, aubergine, greenish blue and a bit of yellow. Small florasl and leaves in picotage work surrounding the larger motifs. All done on a white background. Back fabric is a plain white cotton. A thin layer of cotton batting in between the front and back. These fragments with their thin batting are ideal for making quilted pillows or chair covers.
Full repeat.

Condition
Left in "as found" condition. There are a few medium size holes that can be seen and at the top center there is a largish stain with a smaller stain underneath. Some possible small holes. Always difficult to know for sure unless the fabrics are removed from the quilting. Other than the stains the fragment has a clean appearance. Colors are good strong and consistant.
Back fabric in good condition with some slight soiling and a few very small light stains at one corner.
Has not been laundered. Leaving that up to the discretion of the customer.
