A Dutch sampler. Appears to date from 1865. Hand embroidered. Depicting various styles of the letters of the alphabet and numbers. Cross stitch. Predominantly done in a silk thread with just a bit of red wool thread.

28.5 cm from top to bottom x 28 cm wide.
Condition
Overall good condition but part of the thread in the date is missing. What would have been 18 and there is a bit of red thread loss in the section at the right hand side at top. Background matting has obviously darkened with age.
