An early 1800's French cotton block print. Repeat pattern of larger blossoms  with groupds of small blossoms on branches. Colors are madder red and light blue against a natural mustard color background. 

 

Ful repeat but there are missing parts. 

 

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

From top to bottom

The width is 

 

81 cm wide (selvage still at the left side, missing from the right side) Right side is uneven. Measurements of width are at narrowest points. 


Condition

 

Lightly quilted at one time so you will see light traces of quilt lines. A couple of larger tearsjust off the center. Many small holes throughout the entire piece with thin areas. Right hand side is uneven.  There are some good small sections in good condition. Best suited for small projects or documentation. Color are strong, even and consistant. No stains. 

 

The fabric has been given a cold water soak to remove dust and dirst and then a light light laundering using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. 

 

It is our aim to preserve and protect the orginal colors of the fabric since many of our fabrics are being currently reproduced.
