An exceptional piece of late 1700's early 1800's Ottoman gold work embroidery. Ornate abstract design of stylized leaves, florals and paisley shaped motifs in a gold metal thread that have been couched together. Center motif is made with a platnum colored silver metal thread which extends a bit into the larger motif. Done on a deep wine colored silk velvet. Complete larger motif at each end with a smaller motif center.
At the center you can see some seams in the velvet where smaller pieces have been hand seamed together to form the base cloth. The same for the cloth at the back.
At the back a metallic base cloth with geometric motifs in a silk thread.
Possibly part of larger garment at one time.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
