An interesting fact about corduroy
Corduroy is believed to have originated from an ancient Egyptian fabric called fustian, which features raised ridges similar to corduroy. The name "corduroy" is thought to come from the French term "cord du roi," meaning "the king's cord," although this etymology is debated. Modern corduroy was developed in the 18th century by British textile manufacturers, evolving from its practical origins in workwear to a fashionable fabric by the 19th century
