Probably dating from the 1920's this French oil painting. Depicts some tall trees and what looks like a wall of stone in the foreground with some hills in the background. Signature at the bottom right hand corner and a date of 1927 of 1929. Date is hard to make out. Paint has been heavily applied and has a somewhat impressionistic look to it. What I love about the painting is that the artist has really captured the look and feel of the Provence.
Done on particle board. Unframed.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
19cm across x 26 cm top to bottom.
Condition
Left in as found condition.
Overall good condition with a good appearance. There is a bit of paint missing along the top edge and down the right hand side edge. Tiny hole at top edge where it was probably fixed to a wall at one time. The painting is a bit dusty from being in storage.
