A gorgous large 19th century French muslin curtain. Cotton. White. Finely woven with a hand done white embroidery. Large motifs down the center of florals and leaves with swags of smaller florals underneath each motif. Scalloped edges along the sides and bottom with a stylized blosssom and leaf design. There is a linen band along the top so the curatin can easily be hung.
A bit difficult to photograph due to it's size but photos do show close up's of design, how the curtain looks held up to sunlight etc.
We are limited on the amount of photos we can add to the listing so if you need more photos don't hesitate to contact us. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
2 meters 82 cm from top to bottom
1 meter 36 cm wide.
Condition
Near perfect condition. I saw a couple of pinhead holes when held to light and there are a couple of very smaller excellently done darned repairs which can barely be seen. They are so well done. Threads are good and strong.
The curtain could use a freshing up but does have an overall clean appearance. It's been well care for through the years.
Left in "as found" condition straight from the markets of Provence.
